Three slices of made-in-the-states Britpop from one of New York's finest. "Shiny Shirt" kicks it off, sounding like a rougher, tougher Pooh Sticks with a Boo Radleys horn coda. "Rust" is a gorgeous, melancholy piece with a chorus that soars straight outta a Chameleon's songbook, and "Yo-Yo Man" is an edgy jangler in the tradition of "Nowhere Man" and XTC's "Peter Pumpkinhead." This style of pop seems never to go out of fashion, and the Mach 5 are masters of the art.
