This EP is markedly more disjointed than a typical Farces Wanna Mo recording, and that's saying a lot. Fully a third is given over to "What FWM Has To Say," a self-promotional interview segment that ostensibly attempts to shed light on Farces' intentionally murky existence. While it's amusing to learn that some members of this experimental collective have never met, it hardly invites a second listen. Ditto for "This Is KJAZ FM," a mock college-radio broadcast that rambles like a weak Firesign Theater skit. The remaining tracks add little of worth to the FWM repertoire. All in all, Transcend and Subsume comes off as a silly indulgence, well below the caliber of what I've come to expect from this bunch. Hope it's just a temporary lapse of reason.
